Jeffrey T. Spiegel manages his private accounting practice from an office in Smithtown, Long Island and serves the NY/LI Metropolitan area. Prior to that he was a partner with a mid-size Long Island based CPA firm for 18 years and has more than 30 years experience in the field of accounting. He graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Jeff is a member of the NYS Society of CPA’s and the AICPA. He belongs to numerous networking groups, is a Board Member of the Midtown Networking Group, and runs two networking events each month as the Long Island representative for Networking for Professionals (NFP).

 

Jeff was very active in the Make-A-Wish Foundation from 1984 until 2000, serving for three years as the Treasurer and three years as the Chairman of the Audit and Investment Committee of the National Foundation. He served on the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County and was Chairman of the Board for the final two years of his term.

 

Jeff’s practice consists of small to mid-size privately-owned businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and individual tax clients. Services range from tax planning; to business plan creation and review; to non-profit entity organization; and all other aspects of accounting, tax and financial reporting. Jeff concentrates in the area of business and tax planning and has extensive expertise in non-profit accounting. Jeff’s media credits include The Real Estate Finance Journal (a national publication, where he co-authored an article on the redevelopment of contaminated land sites or brownfields), a number of web-based publications, guest lecturer on various business and financial topics, appearances on CNN and ABC Digital, a feature article in the State University of Albany School of Business Alumni Magazine, and an interview in the March 2007 issue of CFO magazine.
